Research Agenda
My research agenda is directed by the ethos by, with, and for the community. Thus, I approach research through a lens of empowerment, centering and amplifying community members’ voices. My work broadly studies health and wellbeing among LGBTQIA individuals, especially trans and nonbinary folx. Specifically, my work has explored identity development, health equity, and nuanced gendered experiences (e.g., chosen name process). These interests stem from my identity as a queer nonbinary person with seven years of post-MSW practice with LGBTQIA communities, as well as my dedication to transformative teaching and translational research. My positionality and experiences allow me to access hard-to-reach communities and leverage a unique critical lens to identify gaps and growth areas. I design and conduct my research to inform policy and practice to support LGBTQIA populations to thrive.
